What’s the Tots100 all about?

Welcome to Tots100

Are you a UK parent blogger?

If you write an independent UK parent blog then we’d love to welcome you to our community. As a Tots100 blogger, we’ll share your blog and posts with our community, increasing your readership and introducing you to brilliant new blogs.

Tots100 bloggers can also enjoy regular blogging tutorials, webinars, social events and free blogging workshops, at our BlogCamp events around the UK.

If you’re interested in working with brands, the Tots100 runs a blogger-brand messaging platform. Tell us about your family and interests in your Tots100 profile, and PR agencies and brands will be able to contact you directly with event invitations, review opportunities and advertising offers.  We have more than 100 brands and PR agencies who use the Tots100 to contact bloggers, so it’s a great way to get involved in reviews and brand events. But if you decide at any time you no longer want to receive messages, just log-in and change your preferences in your profile.

To join the Tots100, simply fill in the registration form and once your blog is approved, you will be issued a user ID and password that will give you access to the members-only content on our website. You’ll also be able to download a personalised Tots100 badge, which will display your Tots100 ranking on your blog each month.

Tots100 Metrics – How are the Tots100 rankings calculated?

The Tots100 ranks almost 6,000 UK blogs every single month using eight different metrics designed to measure a blog’s popularity, influence and engagement. We score blogs using eight metrics:

  • Unique visitors per month
  • Page impressions per month
  • Links to the site from other blogs
  • Total links to the site, as listed by Moz
  • MozRank score
  • Recent links to the site (previous 30 days)
  • Klout score
  • Instagram followers

We are always interested in talking to bloggers about joining our team. Find out more about our team and how you can get involved with the UK’s biggest and most exciting network of parent blogs.

There’s a problem – what can I do?

Because our index relies on other people’s software and websites, sometimes problems can occur – if this happens, let us know and we’ll do our best to fix it as soon as possible. You can also log-in to your account at any time to see a complete breakdown of your scores. If you have a problem registering with us, or using the Tots100, then please contact us and we’ll do our very best to help.

Can you remove my blog?

Absolutely. If you’re the site owner and you would prefer we don’t list your blog, we’re happy to remove you, no questions asked.

Who publishes the Tots100?

The Tots100 was devised in March 2009 by freelance journalist and blogger Sally Whittle, and was previously published at her blog, Who’s the Mummy. Sally’s blog has been named the UK’s number 1 Mummy blog for three of the past four years by Cision, and Sally was short-listed in Red Magazine’s Red Hot Women Awards in 2012. Sally regularly appears in the media commenting on parenting and blogging issues. She is an experienced public speaker and has provided training to more than 200 PR agencies in media relations and blogger outreach in recent years.  The Tots100 is now published by Flea Enterprises Ltd, which also publishes the Foodies100 and HIBS100 websites, and organises the MAD Blog Awards for British parent bloggers.

So You Know...

As you've likely heard and seen, there's an increasing focus on the authenticity of follower growth and engagement on social platforms across the Influencer Marketing community. The platforms themselves have taken measures to deter inauthentic activity and brands now more closely scrutinise the audiences of the influencers with whom they are partnering.

The Flea Network has implemented a system that will detect abnormal spikes in following and engagement, and flag these properties. Of course, such spikes can often be attributed to viral posts or high-profile brands that bring greater exposure to some content.

If one of your social accounts is flagged by our system without an obvious reason, we may reach out to you for assistance in understanding it. If we find any influencer has artificially inflated their audience size or engagement using paid acquisition or automated, third-party tools, we will remove them permanently from our influencer community.

Feel free to reach out to us at bloggers@fleaenterprises.com with any questions or comments.

Thank you!

The Flea Network Team

Got it!
