Each week we are going to be introducing you to some of our lovely bloggers across our TripsTotsFoodies and HIBS community sites. Our next blog here on Tots is Over 40 and a Mum to One – why not settle down with a cuppa and share 5 minutes with Mary…

Describe your blog in 10 words or less

Over 40 and a Mum to One – family, lifestyle, travel.

How and when did you start blogging?

I started blogging 5 year ago when my son was 3 and he was suffering with chickenpox. He’d not long started pre-school and I really needed something for myself again after being a full time Mum since his birth. I really fell into blogging, but I’m so glad I did.

What’s your favourite thing about your day job?

Blogging is my day job really and I love the flexibility, the fact I can be there for every school event and that no two days are the same.

The last thing I ate was…

Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner

My dream travel destination would be…

Right now it would be New Zealand as my youngest niece moved to Auckland last November and it’s somewhere I’ve never been. She’s a blogger too, and I’ve loved following her adventures over there.

My favourite place on earth is…

Thailand. Although it’s been a few years since I’ve been now, but it’s somewhere I fell in love with many years ago. Apart from the insane traffic in Bangkok, there is nothing I don’t like about the country and it’s beautiful islands. Great food, welcoming people, wonderful culture and scenery to die for.

My personal style is best described as…

These days definitely casual, not sure there’s much style involved to be frank, but I’m past the age of caring what anyone else thinks. Me being comfortable is all that matters.

I can’t wake up without…

A cup of tea within 15 minutes max!

The place I feel happiest is…

Wherever I’m spending time with my son. Sounds corny, but I love spending time with him, preferably outdoors on an adventure. It’s precious time, and I know in a few years spending time with me will be at the bottom of his list of priorities!

One thing not many people know about me is…

Morrissey held my hand at a The Smiths concert back in the 1980’s.

My friends would describe me as…

Quiet, caring and dependable, and the organiser! (I hope)

My party trick is…

Eek! I’m not sure I have one.

What motivates me is…

My son. I want to show him that he can be whatever he wants to be, and that having an imagination can take him far.

In 5 Years Time you’ll find me…

With a lot more grey hairs I guess as I’ll be 55 then! But hopefully healthy, laughing and still having adventures with my then nearly 14 year old son. Probably with a large gin and tonic to hand too.

A big thank you to Mary for spending 5 minutes with us. You can find her blog at Over 40 and a Mum to One, or follow her on Instagram or Twitter.

So You Know...

As you've likely heard and seen, there's an increasing focus on the authenticity of follower growth and engagement on social platforms across the Influencer Marketing community. The platforms themselves have taken measures to deter inauthentic activity and brands now more closely scrutinise the audiences of the influencers with whom they are partnering.

The Flea Network has implemented a system that will detect abnormal spikes in following and engagement, and flag these properties. Of course, such spikes can often be attributed to viral posts or high-profile brands that bring greater exposure to some content.

If one of your social accounts is flagged by our system without an obvious reason, we may reach out to you for assistance in understanding it. If we find any influencer has artificially inflated their audience size or engagement using paid acquisition or automated, third-party tools, we will remove them permanently from our influencer community.

Feel free to reach out to us at bloggers@fleaenterprises.com with any questions or comments.

Thank you!

Got it!
