blog summit

With Autumn Blog Summit just a day away, we’re feeling very excited.

Taking place on Saturday 14th September, at The Studio in Manchester, this ticketed event is sure to be a day of inspiration and insight into everything blogging related.

is there a hashtag?

The hashtag for the event is #BlogSummit. Using the hashtag helps you connect with other delegates and also means people following the event on Twitter can easily find your Tweets. We will RT the best tips and comments during the day from our account. We are @tots100 on Twitter and @tots100index on Instagram – please do follow us!

where is the venue?

The Studio is located at the Hive on Lever St, 5-10 mins walk from Manchester Piccadilly station. If you’re driving, the nearest car park is Church St (postcode M4 1LX). If you’re travelling by train, exit Piccadilly Station via the “Piccadilly” exit and turn right, walking down the ramp towards the city centre. Follow this path until you see Tesco Express on your left hand side. Cross over Newton St and take the next right into Lever St. Continue to walk along Lever St (crossing Back Piccadilly and Faraday St) and The Studio is number 51.

are refreshments provided?

Tea, coffee, water and snacks are available throughout the day, and there will be a hot and cold lunch buffet. Vegetarian options will be available, naturally.

what is happening on the day?

The day will kick off around 10am with a welcome from our sponsors, Volvo Cars and Cow & Gate. The support of these brands is what allows us to keep Blog Summit free of charge for bloggers, and we encourage you to say hello to the brands attending on the day, if they’re relevant to you!

In the morning, we will be opening up with an inspiring session with Sarah McIntyre, who will talk about how she uses blogging to build a community, to keep creatively inspired and provide a platform for her very successful illustrated books.

Next up, Parentdish columnist, author and blogger Ben Wakeling will be sharing his story of working with a charity to co-publish a book, as well as offering insights on dealing with online negativity and criticism.

Ruth Arnold of Geek Mummy will be running a tech clinic, with tips for bloggers at all levels on blogging essentials that aren’t as tricky as you might have thought! From backing up your blog to personalising your blog design, we’ll have user-friendly tips to make you a fully fledged blogging ninja.

After lunch, our sessions will kick off with a panel of expert food bloggers sharing tips on how to present food content that will get your readers’ taste buds tingling. Our bloggers will be sharing tips on working with food brands, presenting recipes, getting great photos for your blog – and much more.

Finally, we’ll be looking at the ever-popular issue of working with brands, with tips from the Tots100 and Foodies100 team, followed by a brand panel featuring PR guests who will be chatting about opportunities to work with their brands and clients.  There will be plenty of time for Q&A and sharing of your own experiences in this session.
