Center Parcs has had just one thing on its mind today as calendars flipped to February. And no, it wasn’t the romance of Valentine’s Day but instead a love of a different kind…pancakes!
By taking part in this month’s foodie challenge you could be one of the four wildcard bloggers, chosen throughout the monthly challenges, to become a Center Parcs Family Blogger AND win a family break to the Center Parcs village of your choice. Terms and conditions apply.
With Pancake Day on February 12th approaching quickly, here’s Richard Morgan, Head Chef at The Pancake House, Center Parcs Longleat Forest, to tell you all about the concept behind Center Parcs’ much-loved Pancake House and what it’s like to be a pancake chef.

“The Pancake House has been part of the Center Parcs experience since the first village was built at Sherwood Forest 25 years ago. Now there’s a Pancake House at each of the four villages and soon to be one at our fifth village, Woburn Forest when it opens in spring 2014.
As you can imagine, the Pancake House has become a huge part of a break at Center Parcs for many families who return time and time again for one of our unique sweet or savoury pancakes.
The Center Parcs concept originated from Holland which is why our pancakes are cooked the Dutch way on a special griddle. We have lots of these griddles on the go on Pancake Day!
It’s amazing how creative you can be with pancakes, whether it’s sweet fillings, savoury toppings or an old faithful drizzle of lemon and sugar there’s a recipe to take everyone’s fancy. So, why not get some inspiration from my favourite Pancake House creations…”
- For a hearty savoury flavour try our very own Forester veggie
Fillings: Sliced potato, spring onion and peas
Toppings: Cheese and lashings of mayonnaise - Sweet-toothed pancakers should try our Dutch apple delight
Fillings: Sliced Apple and sultanas
Toppings: Whipped cream (or vanilla ice cream) and a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar - If you’re looking for something a little different, why not try the Brunch pancake
Filling: Bacon or sausage, eggs and mushrooms
Toppings: Baked beans or tomato, or both! - Or, for a healthier start to your Pancake Day, see if you have any fresh fruit stocked up in the fridge and you can throw a handful of berries into the pan. We roll our Fruits of the Forest pancake up and fill with forest fruit compote for a fruit filled treat!
To be in with a chance of winning a short break at Center Parcs for you and your family, we’re challenging you to create your own unique pancakes and take pics of the result – don’t forget to share your wonderful recipes, unless it’s a family secret, of course!
Then, just send a tweet including the hashtag #CPFamilyBreaks to @tots100 and @CenterParcsUK, linking to your blog post. This month’s challenge closes at 4pm on 22nd February.
Please find the full terms and conditions for the challenge here and do make sure to be careful with certain ingredients if you are prone to allergies.
Thanks to all the bloggers who took part in our January challenge to create a home spa experience – you can see a Pinterest board of all the entries here.
