[Shared by the Book Boy]

If you’re reading this post after listening to me and The Book Dad on BBC Radio Norfolk this afternoon (27th November 2012 – 2 hours 30 mins in to the broadcast), then thank you for stopping by.

As we spoke about on Stephen’s show, here’s some of the best books released this year which you really should buy that man in your life this Christmas…

“Two Brothers” – Ben Elton

This book, about Jewish twins growing up in Nazi Germany is a moving tale about love, loss and separation. Sharing everything but their bloodline the twins are faced with an unimaginable choice – who will survive the Nazi terror?

“Dominion” – C.J Sansom

Set in an imaginary 1950’s Britain after making peace with Germany in 1940, this book is a brilliant historical thriller. David Fitzgerald, a member of Churchill’s Resistance sets out to save a scientist who knows how to make an atom bomb – trouble is, the Nazis want him too. Who will get to him first?

“Commando” – James Owen

Reviewed by my very lovely Book Dad, this book is all about how those brave men took the war to the enemy. A well-researched and first-rate read!

He also mentioned “Cockleshell Heroes” by Paddy Ashdown.

So there you have it, a couple of great novels and a couple of great history books for your consideration. Don’t buy your dad or husband a boring book token – buy them one of these fab reads.

Be sure to tune in again on December 11th when I’ll be reviewing some books to buy the lady in your life for Christmas (let’s face it chaps, you need all the help you can get)

Until next time,

All the very best

The Book Boy (and Dad!)
