November October Tots100 Chit Chat

Rosie and Claire

Hello folks, time for another month’s Chit Chat and it seems that this month has been pretty quiet on the “gossip” front.  Remember, that I need you to help me with any news that you might have.

We would like to congratulation Modern Mummy on the birth of her daughter – a new baby always makes us smile, even on the frostiest of mornings. Now not necessarily a baby as such, but Wendy and the rest of the Savvy family have welcomed their gorgeous new puppy Storm into their lives.

Over at Mummy, Daddy and Me Makes Three we have exciting news – their new arrival is to be a little girl.

Another new arrival this month is from one of the members of the Tots100 team Sonia.  She has been a busy bee and her new baby Finding my inner girl is a great blog and one that has been popped in my reader.  Another new arrival is Crochet at Play by Kat Goldin, who won Blog of the Year at this year’s MAD Blog Awards.

Kelly from A Place of my Own has started her new venture Petit Fromage where she sells beautifully homemade and handcrafted christmas stockings. Do let us know if you’re selling something hand-made or home-made for Christmas, as we’re busy putting together a list of blogger-made Christmas gifts for next month.

Finally, one of our favourite bloggers (and we’re not just saying this in hopes of winner her favour) Rosie Scribble has started a brand new job this month as a community manager at Google, helping to explain Google+ and its mysteries to parent forums, blogs and brands. Good luck, Rosie!

We are sending lots of love and thoughts to Jane of Northern Mum as she battles with the fact that Twin Girl has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.  This is something that Pippa from A Mothers Ramblings has just been through with Big Boy.

Our very own Lindy embarks on a new role this month too, as a Leader for Weight Watchers.

Meanwhile, Cara Freckles and Helen from Casa Costello set up St Helens WI (WISH) last year and at their very first appearance at Lancashire County Show both won first in the categories they entered.

Sarah from Walking with Angels has been featured in The Daily Mail to highlight and raise awareness of Rett Syndrome – there were some wonderful photos alongside this inspiring read – well done Sarah!

It appears that we have a lot of radio stars in our midst too, with Heather Young of Growing Spaces and Young and Younger appearing on BBC Berkshire’s parenting panel and Actually Mummy and The Mummy Whisperer also being regulars at their local stations.

It is also great to see a number of Tots100 bloggers in the Tesco Toy Team videos, including G from Actually Mummy.  The Times interviewed Flea this week too – the seven year old offspring of Sally has started her own blog.  So it appears children are on the up!

Now we think about it, Actually Mummy seems to be taking over the media at the moment and she appeared in The Sun this last week too looking very glamorous indeed, I am wondering why she didn’t wear the dress to The Mad Blog Awards!

Last but not least, three Tots100 bloggers have been short-listed in the blogging category of the Red Hot Women 2012 Awards – congratulations to Sally, Susanna and Helen!

Please keep me informed of any chit chat for next month’s column.  Remember it is not gossip, it is just networking!

Every day of the week, Good Reads brings you the best and brightest content from Tots100, the UK parent blog network. Our community of more than 7,500 parent bloggers have a combined monthly audience of more than 10m readers, writing about everything from parenting to politics, food and fashion.

  1. Good Lord you really do see everything at the Tots100 don’t you?? I was rather hoping that my “adventures of the Silver Ballgown in the Sun” might be overlooked, but it seems I am set to be a high-profile embarrassment to my daughter in future years 😉 Thanks for the mentions (all of them).
