Yet again another fantastic half term event organised by the Lichfield District libraries.  Today, we made a bat mask, treat box and a cape for Halloween with Sarah Fry from Sew Cool Creations.

Caitlin was not in her best mood so I had to do most of her cutting for her.  Firstly, I cut out the pre-drawn mask with two wings and a bat head.  Then Caitlin stuck them together and decorated the mask with glitter and feathers.  It look so adorable on her.
Then we moved onto the treat box.  I felt that it was more like a treat bag than box. Again I had to cut out the pre-drawn cardboard.  Then folded both sides and stuck double sided tape to seal the bag.  Finally, we used crayons to decorate it.
Lastly, we were suppose to move onto designing the cape but our little madam decided she had enough and wanted to have her lunch at McDonalds.  That is why the cape was not decorated.  Before we left the class, Sarah gave Caitlin her treats – chocolate!  Brilliant!  I certainly had a lot of fun decorating even if we did not get full co-operation from our little madam!
Once again, for £2 per child, the 1.5 hour session was a great bargain!  Lichfield District libraries should promote more of these activities to encourage children to learn more about crafting.  I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
