Hello everyone.
My name is Jen, and I blog at Mum in the Madhouse. I am thrilled to welcome you to my new monthly column here on Tots100. This is where we’ll be sharing news on all the exciting things going on around the UK parent blogging community. Sadly, I’m not allowed to call the column Gossip Girl, but this isn’t about curtain-twitching – it’s about sharing good news, and keeping you all up to date with the Big Happenings in the blogosphere.
sharing the love
While we’re sharing the love, the Lovely Lexy aka Mammywoo has announced that The Irish One asked her to marry him and she said yes and Oh, what a ring! Congratulations, Lexy, we can’t think of anyone who deserves a lovely wedding more than you!
new arrivals
It has been a fab week in the parent blogging community for new babies. We are delighted to be able to offer congratulations to Mrs C on the birth of Master C, Dear Beautiful Boy on the birth of her daughter, Honest mum on the birth of her son and Mummy shoes on the birth of her son. It certainly has been a productive week!
I am also delighted to be able to share with you all that Carol of New Mummy’s Tips and Dance without Sleeping is going to be having a baby (pause for drum roll) ………………………………………………………………….. girl.
best wishes
Michelle from Michelle Twin Mum will be going to Ethiopia on behalf of the ONE campaign in October and we’re fascinated to read her updates. Good luck, Michelle!
We are also thinking about Kerry from Multiple Mummy who is on the long road to recovery in hospital and send her lots of support and get well wishes. Also in hospital is Tired Mummy of Two’s daugter being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Our thoughts are with Elizabeth and the rest of the family at this difficult time. I know that they have found the online support invaluable at this hard time.
In the Media
It has also been a great news month for Tots100 members in the press, with Sonia from This Mummy Loves and Kara from Innocent Charm Chats being in Take a Break, in addition to Grayson, Kara’s son making the front page of The Kentish Gazette, Sally was in The Guardian and The Real Supermum in Fabulous Magazine and our very own Kate is in The Guinness Book of Records 2013.
Sally was also speaking at Social Media Week about social media and the modern mother, along with Carrie from Mumsnet. Whilst we are taking about Mumsnet, they have announced that they are holding their own conference for bloggers called Blogfest on 10 November in London. The line-up looks brilliant, we can’t wait to hear Liz Jones!
A large number of Tots100 bloggers and their children attended a casting for Tesco’s Toy Team at RADA this weekend including, Actually Mummy, Purplemum, Frugal Family, But Why Mummy, Why? and Northern Mum. Me and the boys attended too, but do not have a chance of a call back after Mini decided that the microphone was actually his pet dog! Good luck to all that attended and we can not wait to see the videos.
The MAD Blog Awards
This Friday sees the third annual MAD Blog Awards ceremony in Central London and I can not wait to bring you all the news and gossip from the event, but I am not allowed to let ANYTHING slip ahead of the big night. But if you’re attending, do come and say hi to me – I am so excited to meet everyone.
So this is where you come in, please keep me informed of any chit chat for next month’s column. Remember it is not gossip, it is just networking!
