tots100 home club

The Tots100 Home Club is our fab partnership with Homebase. Every month we share some genius ideas and inspiration for how you can make the most of your home – without spending a fortune.

This month, we challenged three Tots100 bloggers to tackle the most-often neglected room in the house. our own bedrooms. Why do we always leave our own rooms to last, huh? I have redecorated my own house twice over – except my own bedroom, which hasn’t been touched since the year after we moved in (*cough* 20 years ago…). This month’s Home Bloggers were given £100 to remake their bedrooms with the help of the new Homebase App on Facebook (a brilliant tool for planning your own makeovers).
So. Read on – they have certainly inspired me to get my bottom moving on doing up my own little piece of sleepville…

First up was Kelly from Domestic Goddesque, who totally made over the bedroom with a new colour scheme, furniture reshuffle and some brilliant accessorising… I LOVE the warmth the splashes of red have instantly brought to the room…

Next was poor Violet Posy, who had a rather traumatic makeover – what with plaster coming away, and paint being pulled off, and headboard’s arriving broken the makeover got a whole heap bigger very fast! But, she took a slug of wine and carried on manfully – and just look what she accomplished in the end. Tidy cables and EVERYTHING…

Lastly, Heather from Growing Spaces decided that tackling one spot in her bedroom would be all that was needed to give the whole room a facelift. A new Dressing Table was needed to create space and reduce clutter. She used her Homebase spend on some genius ideas that I would never have thought of – re purposing doorknobs to jewellery holders, a towel rail as a scarf holder, and the desk organiser for toiletries..

What are your bedroom decor challenges? We’d love to hear about it, and do let us know if you’d like to take on a Home Club challenge – what’s your must-tackle project?

Ooooh, I love reading these. Nothing better than a good room makeover. Very jealous of all the pewtty new bedrooms that the above bloggers have created.

Do do do let me know if you ever decide to focus on conservatories or similar. Ours is unfinished (and was that way when we moved in) and acts as a utility room, boot room and general dumping ground. it is 100% disaster area and would be a brilliant challenge for this feature.

What’s my must-tackle project? Where do I start? The children’s room are actually not too bad, but ours is pretty bleurgh at the minute, so do something there. I have lots of ‘projects’ (charity shop find) cluttering up the garage awaiting a revamp too.
my sons walk in wardrobe is a mess too, it need some shelving and tubs for clothes etc.
I would love to get involved with the Home Club, it suits my blog perfectly.

My must tackle project will be my new summerhouse. It’s ordered but comes flat pack and then just stained so it will be very sparse. In my head it will be a peaceful hideaway but to start with it will be an empty shell! If you fancy a complete makeover then I think it’s as good a project as any!
