Are you counting down the days to the summer holidays yet?
Okay, so maybe it’s not officially sunny, but we are reliably informed that summer is here, and our thoughts are turning to how we’re going to spend the summer break.
Should we blow the budget (and our savings) on a luxury holiday abroad, or go self-catering? Maybe the kids would enjoy a camping trip – or is it better to stay home and fill the days with activities…
What do you think?
To help you decide how to spend this summer, the Tots100 has teamed up with Parentdish to challenge four UK parent bloggers to convince us that THEIRS is the perfect summer.
Over at Thinly Spread, Chris says that a life under canvas is the only one worth living, and that spending your summer in a tent is fun, environmentally friendly, and the perfect way to get close to the kids.
Getting close to the kids is a lot more fun when you each have a pocket sprung mattress and room service, argues Laura from LittleStuff. A luxury break, ideally all-inclusive, takes all the stress out of summer, says Laura.
Not so, says Karina from Not Always Right. In fact, when you have small children, hotels are just one big headache. Self-catering means mealtimes are simpler, naps can be taken anytime, and there’s space to breathe!
Want a simple, relaxed summer? Then what you actually need is a stay-cation, says Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter. Forget about suitcases, sun cream and finding that lost passport – why not just make the most of the brilliant things right on your doorstep?

I agree totally a staycation here!
