Following the marked decline in the popularity of paid links we saw a distinct shift in the way blogs are working with brands. The number of straightforward sponsored posts has definitely fallen, and brands are starting to be far more inventive (and therefore interesting) in the way they are working with bloggers.

That said, as always the Tots100 bloggers have been involved in a number of campaigns in recent weeks, as tracked in the Tots100 Brand Index. This is a monthly list that tracks the brands, products and services being talked about by the UK’s top 100 parent blogs. The list simply measures the frequency of mentions on our top 100 blogs each month – it’s a straightforward statistic, with no measurement of sentiment.

Last month, by far the most widely talked about event was Cybher – how could it not be so, with so over 300 bloggers attending the one day conference.

Duplo continue to perform well, as a result not only of their strong ‘Duplo 2012 Blogger’ club but also of organic mentions. Ever-popular Lego weren’t far behind – including an interesting turnaround on the Lego Friends debate from GeekMummy.

Sian’s trip to Niger led to a viral outpouring for World Vision – if you still want to be involved, a group of bloggers is getting together to sponsor children through World Vision. You can read how to help on Sian’s Mummy-Tips blog.

Random House were busy too, as Princess Poppy  has leaped into the top 10 with a series of popular reviews for the pre-schooler picture books.

Volvo successfully raised awareness of a Volvo V60 Twitter competition day they ran, using a straightforward sposnored post mechanism to leap into the top 5 in May.

Tots100 clubs continue to do well, with Homebase making a new appearance following the launch of the Home Club, Morphy Richards popping up as they launched their new Innovators, and Warner Bros Film Club staying in the top 25 despite a spell of scorching weather driving everyone outside, followed hot on its heels by half term driving everyone away from their blogs.
