The Tots100 LOVES Blogs

May 24th, 2012

We’ve been doing a lot of tinkering behind the scenes on the Tots100 in recent weeks, on a couple of new projects. And today we’re a bit excited to share the first results of our behind the scenes work – the Tots100 Love Blogs widget.

One of the things we want to do with the Tots100 is promote our members’ parenting blogs – but with more than 3,000 UK parent bloggers in our community it is becoming increasingly difficult to that as much as we’d like. So, we have developed a new Love Blogs widget, which we’d love you to display on your blogs.

The Love Blogs widget will sit on your sidebar looking pretty, but it does much more than that. Every day the widget will display links to four different blogs from the Tots100, selected at random from all the blogs in our community. It’s perfect for anyone who loves discovering new blogs, and means we’ll be able to share some brilliant blogs, regardless of where they sit in the Tots100 index.

Want to display the widget on your sidebar?

Just log into your Tots100 account and the new Love Blogs widget code is on the badge page, along with your Tots100 score badge. The widget is 17o pixels wide, which we hope means it will fit into most blogs. To use the badge, you just need to copy the single line of code, and add it to a new widget (WordPress) or Gadget (Blogger) in your blog’s sidebar.

Want to be featured in the widget?

You’ll notice your Tots100 profile has been updated with an option to join the Love Blogs widget. All you need to do is select ‘yes’ on this option, and provide us with a short, catchy description of your blog. Just log-in, update your details, and save.

That’s it.

So, go on – let’s go out there and share a bit of blog love, people!

(PS – Thanks to Merry for giving us the initial idea! We hope you approve)
