It’s been an interesting few weeks for the relationship between brands and blogs, with a rapid decline in the popularity of paid links, and some UK blogger outreach campaigns that have not been a complete success (to put it kindly).
That said, Tots100 bloggers have been involved in a number of campaigns in recent weeks, as tracked in the Tots100 Brand Index. This is a monthly list that tracks the brands, products and services being talked about by the UK’s top 100 parent blogs. The list measures frequency of mentions on our top 100 blogs each month, and doesn’t take into account sentiment.
This month, Nissan has been widely talked about with its campaign that encouraged bloggers to get their friends to click on social media sites to ‘vote’ for their favourite blogger to win a car. The competition has generated some controversy over voting, and the results are now with an independent adjudicator.
This month also saw a broad review campaign by Frankie and Benny’s, the Italian-American style restaurant chain. Again, mixed results as some reviews were very positive, and others less so.
Fish is the Dish continues to rank highly, thanks to its ongoing Fish is the Dish campaign, encouraging bloggers to cook fish dishes with their families. Warner Brothers also features strongly, thanks to a half-term blitz of DVDs to families, alongside the Tots100 Film Club.
