Give up Clothes for GoodLast Wednesday we saw a lot of people on Twitter talking about Giving up Clothes. No, not for good – just the ones you don’t wear any more. Along the way, there were some fab tips and advice being thrown about the cyberwaves, and not just from Natalie Hartley, senior style editor at InStyle magazine. One of my favourites was from SnafflesMummy -

@snafflesmummy turn all hangers wrong way round,as wear items turn hangers right.if still wrong in 6mths, donate

Two of our most stylish Tots100 bloggers, @christinemosler and @bigfashionista lead the way, and an amazing 600 Tweeters took part in the #GiveUpClothes Twitter Party – reaching around 2 million people. TWO MILLION PEOPLE. That’s truly astonishing – and we thank each and every one of you.

Also, huge congratulations to @seasiderclare, @bumpwearproject, @maximka25, @goriami and @cakeshopcorner who all managed to win themselves a £50 TK Maxx voucher!

Now, if you missed it, but still want to support TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK with their fifth annual Give up Clothes for Good campaign, fret not. You still can!

Here at the Tots100 we are big believers that bloggers can do amazing things, spreading the word about big issues and inspiring positive change in our communities (Remember that figure you helped us reach again? Two. Million. People.)

There are three really simple things you can do to help the Give up Clothes for Good campaign.

FIRST: We’re asking Tots100 bloggers to take their unwanted, quality items of clothing to TK Maxx during April.

SECOND: We’d love you to help spread the word about this campaign among your friends, readers and followers. Post on Facebook, share a Tweet (use the hashtag #giveupclothes), just get all your friends to take their quality, unwanted clothing to TK Maxx this April.

THIRD: Take part in our special carnival this month, all about the clothes we’re going to Give up for Good. We’d love you to tell us a story about a much-loved but no longer worn item of clothing that you’re donating to help beat kids’ cancer. Maybe it’s a dress you wore on a special occasion, or something that reminds you of a fabulous holiday or life-changing appointment?

Whatever it is, we’d love you to join in and help spread the word about Give Up Clothes For Good – and we’ll be sharing all the entries on a very special blog carnival coming soon. Please feel free to include any web links or video links in your post, if you feel it would help the cause. Once you’ve written your post, email us the link and we’ll include it in our carnival, which will be published on FRIDAY. All posts must be received before then, so get your skates on!

So, come on, tell us what’s lurking at the back of your cupboards and support the UK’s biggest charity clothing collection campaign to help beat kids’ cancer.

What’s it all about?

If you’re anything like us, you’ve got a wardrobe full of great quality clothes that you never wear. Maybe they are the wrong size, or just don’t suit your lifestyle any more.

Give Up Clothes for Good asks everyone in the UK to take these quality, unwanted items to their local TK Maxx store in April. Donated items are tagged and sorted before being sold through Cancer Research UK stores around the country. Every penny raised from these items will be used in the fight against kids’ cancer.

In the 1960s, only around 1 in 4 children with cancer survived. Today, almost 3 in 4 survive, thanks to the work of organisations like Cancer Research UK.  But there’s more work to be done before we beat kids’ cancer for good. Please take one minute to watch this video and see why this issue is so important to us all, as parents.
