BlogCamp helpers needed

April 2nd, 2012

Our first BlogCamp of 2012 is approaching fast, and we have our fingers crossed that it’s going to be a huge success.

As you may know, all 150 tickets for BlogCamp Birmingham sold out in just five hours, and we know lots of people who wanted to come to BlogCamp weren’t able to secure a spot. Fear not! For you could be joining us at BlogCamp in exchange for a few hours of servitude. Oh, yes.

We’re looking for three enthusiastic, friendly, confident bloggers to come and help out at BlogCamp UK on April 21st 2012.

As you may know, BlogCamp is a non-profit event, so we rely on the support of the community to make our events a success. We can’t pay our helpers, but you will get to attend BlogCamp and should have plenty of time to hang out with your blogging friends and attend workshops on the day. We can contribute £50 per blogger towards your travel expenses, and all food and drink on the day will be provided, thanks to our sponsors.

We’ll need you to arrive early on Saturday morning to help set up the venue, and ensure everything is ready for our guests. We’ll then need help greeting bloggers and collecting tickets in the morning, and then helping bloggers find their way in the venue, directing people to sessions and steering them towards the all-important coffee and cake areas. During the breaks, we’ll be asking you to help bloggers find their friends and ensure nobody goes home without meeting the people they want to meet – and to help answer any questions people might have.

If you’re free to attend from 9am on April 21st, and aren’t already attending the event, please do leave your details in the comments. We’ll select three bloggers at random on Friday 6 April, so do make sure you’re free to attend for the whole day before throwing your hat in the ring!

Thanks to everyone who works so hard making BlogCamp a success, we truly appreciate your support.
