The MAD Blog Awards

Hold onto your hats. The MAD Blog Awards 2012 are open for business!

The third annual Mum and Dad Blog Awards, in association with Parentdish.co.uk, are the UK’s biggest and most exciting awards for parent blogs. The MAD Blog Awards are run by the same team as the Tots100, and we’re always excited to have the opportunity to show off the thousands of amazing blogs in our community. Over 1,000 people have nominated already in this year’s MAD Blog Awards. Have you?

Nominate your favourite blogs for a MAD Blog Award, and help us celebrate everything that’s brilliant about blogging. This year we have 20 award categories, reflecting the growing diversity and amazing talent to be found among UK parent blogs. The awards wouldn’t be the same without MAD Blog of the Year, Best MAD Blog Writer or Best MAD Family Fun Blog categories. They are still here, but there are also several new categories, including Most Helpful Blogger, Best Thrifty MAD Blogger, Best MAD Schooldays Blog and Best MAD Fashion Blog.

If you would like to be nominated for an award, let your readers know. You can write a post asking readers to nominate you, or just take the opportunity to share some of your favourite blogs with your readers – who are you going to be nominating this year? There are a range of general and ’Nominate Me!’ blog badges available for download.

Our finalists will be invited to join us at the most glamorous and fun night in the blogging calendar – the MAD Blog Awards ceremony. Those who can remember it (cough), will vouch that the 2011 ceremony was a truly fabulous night. If you would like a taste of what happens when you put 100 bloggers in sparkly dresses* and give them wine, check out the highlights from last year.

Make sure you don’t miss a moment of the awards this year, and follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

[I'm sure Tim and Tom would want me to point out that they didn't actually wear sparkly dresses]
