This year, Mother’s Day falls on March 18th and our family will gather at my Mum’s house for a family lunch, lots of chat and a few treats for Mum from her family – just a token of thanks for all she does for her family through the year.
But my best friend refuses to even acknowledge Mother’s Day, arguing that it’s a commercial ruse designed to sell flowers and chocolates during a quiet time of year. It helps that he lives in another country to his own Mum, of course, or things might be a bit different.
When you have young children, the chances are that Mother’s Day involves one or more home made treasures, involving glitter, glue and great splodges of paint.
The question is, who’s got it right? What’s the best way to celebrate Mother’s Day?
Because nothing says Mother’s Day like a bit of friendly competition we’ve
teamed up with Parentdish.co.uk and challenged three of our favourite
bloggers to convince us that they have got Mother’s Day just right. That’s right. We’re taking the gloves off, and launching a Mother’s Day Battle.
First up, Nickie from Typecast argues that Mother’s Day is just another day
- and shouldn’t we be celebrating the special women in our lives every day?
Next, Maggy from Red Ted Art says that Mother’s Day is best celebrated with
home made gifts from the heart that say thanks, and I love you.
Meanwhile, Laura over at LittleStuff says that Mother’s Day is REALLY an
opportunity to get spoiled, and be pampered by the whole family.
What do you think?
Head over to Parentdish.co.uk and vote for your Perfect Mother’s Day, and
while you’re there, why not enter the amazing competition to win a spa break for two?
