Social Media Week takes place September 19th-23rd in eight cities across the the globe including our very own Glasgow. There are many great events running including Blog Off a series of workshops on Monday the 19th for bloggers whether they are new, old or even just thinking about blogging.
You may have noticed that everyone and their mother have jumped on the blogging bandwagon with the likes of the Guardian, NetMums and more creating their own blogger networks. Bloggers definitely have a powerful voice, but how do you make sure your voice gets heard? The obvious answer is good content! If you write good posts people will want to read them but sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.
Blog Off is a half day free event with real-life advice from bloggers, designers, videographers and PR representatives. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other bloggers from around greater Glasgow and beyond! If you’d like to learn more about blogging from design, SEO, vlogging and more come why not register for Blog Off on September 19th, part of Social Media Week Glasgow.
Some bloggers you may have seen in the Tots100 index of UK parent blogs will be speaking on the day:
- Ellen from In a Bun Dance will be speaking about Blogging for Happiness. We’re all being told to blog – for business, for our brands and by way of the latest fancy technology. It can make it sound a bit of a chore, however, Ellen will explain how blogging can bring very personal benefits in a raft of different ways. Done right, blogging will make your life better.
- Nickie from Typecast brings you SEO for Dummies: The Blogging Basics of SEO. From keywords to meta tags and everything in between, learn some simple tips to make your blog more visible on search engines.
- Melaina from Transatlantic Blonde will be hosting the day and giving tips and tricks along the way. As both a blogger and a consultant she works both as a blogger working with brands and as a consultant doing blogger outreach. Make sure to arrive on time as her “Lovely to Tweet You” session will take tweeting out of the cybersphere and into real life.
Registration is free and open until tomorrow afternoon. You can register by visiting the Blog Off Event Page where you can also view the full schedule.
