Best of the Parent Blogs: Ten at Ten (Week 13)

10 Best Mummy blogs of the Week

Welcome to another round-up of our 10 favourite posts by Tots100 Mum and Dad bloggers this week. As the weather seems to have finally turned sunny (I hope saying this doesn’t make it turn cloudy) this week we’ve picked some of our favourite seasonal blog posts from UK parent blogs about Easter, the great outdoors and gardening. There are some particularly brilliant photos in this week’s Ten at Ten, so do settle down for a great read.

One of my very favourite thing about this time of year is bluebells and woodland walks – so I loved this post from Nappy Mountain about a gorgeous woodland walk in Durham – lovely photos that inspired me to plan a walk for our family this weekend. Have you got a favourite walk near your home town for Easter?

Does the thought of organising Easter family fun fill you with dread? Then you need these tips, from Jessie’s Crazy Kitchen, which are guaranteed to make Easter fun even if you have a hangover – result! Because Jessie is quite right, Easter Egg hunts really are hard work!

Of course Easter isn’t just about chocolate eggs (or so I’m told). What do your kids know about the true meaning of Easter? More than us, in some cases, as My Mummy Wrote This for Me found out this week.

This is also the time of year I like to pretend I can garden. I can’t garden of course, I simply take things into my home and watch them die slow deaths. But that’s why God invented blogs, so I could look at gorgeous photos of retro nurseries like these stunners, posted this week by Happy Home Maker.

I’m a sucker for those blogs that make life look extra pretty, so I’m delighted that Pipany has been on holiday and has posted a beautiful collection of beach and food shots from her trip – just gorgeous and guaranteed to lift your mood if you’re stuck at work on a Friday.

Are you a crafty blogger? If so, City Girl Gone Coastal needs your help on a sewing-related crisis – how do you sew a lining into a new handbag? If you have any tips, I’m sure they’d be much appreciated!

Looking for a post to make you laugh? Belgian Waffling regularly reduces me to tears of laughter, and I think the intro to this ‘bonus’ blog post is one of my favourites ever. All my blog posts should begin like this, frankly. If you’re not a BW fan, I suggest adding this blog to your reading list, immediately.

Sometimes in parenting, it’s the little issues that floor you completely. I could really relate to this story about Metal Mummy’s daughter, who has suddenly, inexplicably become scared of flies. Having raised a fly-phobic child myself, I can relate!

Another gorgeous photo this week comes from Slugs on the Refrigerator who not only earns my admiration for having 2 babies in the space of a year (and four days)but also has one of my favourite headlines of the week: it’s like climbing a mountain, only with more snot.

Finally, Bumbling Along has been rethinking her blogging this week, and has made a decision – to split her personal blog and her Mummy blog. So we wish you loads of luck Bumbling, with your latest project – Moo’s News!
